More to come here (and not sure if these are even the right tags) but really liked the Weekly Business Review take from an ex-Amazon VP.

I think it’s a really interesting idea to think about how to measure and improve the business. Some metrics are backwards looking, so what’s the right forward looking metric to look at.

One take out of the bat - I like the three questions:

  1. What did our customers experience last week?
  2. How did our business do last week?
  3. Are we on track to hit targets?

Implicit in this is the idea we have targets for different metrics. Without a target, it’s hard to know if you’re doing good.
